Chronologically, Heartstopper starts a year before Solitaire starts. You do not need to read them both, but if you’d like to read them both, it doesn’t matter which one you read first. The Heartstopper series and Solitaire feature some of the same characters, and operate within the same universe/timeline, but they are very different stories – Heartstopper is a happy, romantic, uplifting graphic novel series that focuses on Nick and Charlie, while Solitaire is a dark story about mental illness narrated by Charlie’s sister, Tori, and was written long before Heartstopper. This Winter and Nick and Charlie are spin-off novellas from Solitaire and Heartstopper, but can still be read and enjoyed even if you haven’t read those books.

Solitaire, Radio Silence, I Was Born for This, and Loveless are all standalone novels about different characters. but the plot was pretty good, and i learned about the experiences of someone who has a severe anxiety based panic disorder, and there were also some good twists to the storyline, just overall not what i was expecting.My books can be read in any order. also, this book was just kind of depressing, like, i understand that oseman puts a lot of effort into making sure that shes representing not only the queer community but also mental health issues, however for me personally it was just a lot and i wasn't entirely prepared for it. also im ngl i thought this was a romance, like between angel and jimmy but angel like had no clue what she was doing with her life or herself so.yeah. for example, the miscommunications between juliet and angel for literally the entirety of their week together, and also rowan and jimmy being 'best friends' but there interactions always seemed so base level and awkward, and like none of the characters could like read each other at all. to start, the relationships and interactions between the characters were just not at all deep enough for me to be convinced of friendship, etc. i wanted to like this a lot more than i did cause i love oseman and nick and charlie but this book just didn't live up to their story and my expectations.
